Fine Quality Francois Linke Attributed Dore' Bright Gilded Bronze Bookcase
This is an extraordinary low bookcase attributed to Francois Linke of France. The cast bronze ormolu has been meticulously restored to reveal its original fire-gilt dore' bronze and incredible almost jewel quality hand-chasted bronze. The bronze features garlands, scenes of cherubs or putti playing without a care in the world and exceptionally robust paw feet. The top is made of a gorgeous slab of Breccia marble in white, lavender and other subtle colors. The piece has been recently French-polished and looks like a museum piece. Measures 49.5 wide x 43.25 tall x 15 deep. Dates to the 1880s era.
Height: 43.25 in (109.86 cm) Width: 49.5 in (125.73 cm) Depth: 15 in (38.1 cm)
Wear consistent with age and use. Older museum quality but still very bright and clean French-polished restoration and has very little if any signs of wear or signs of use.
